We just wanted something really simple to go with our Eriba and came across this new model from Omnistor.
What do you think - good match for a 310?

Thanks.

I have always thought that the Fiamma version (Caravanstore) was better because of the way the legs actually went inside the roll. Also I thought that the Fiamma extended further than the Omnistor however it's a long time since I did actual comparisons.

I've got an omnistor 2000.........on a Triton. Mine is a pull out version. It works well. However, the weight of the pull out version differs a lot from the wind out version, the weight difference, is quite considerable. The pull our one is a little more difficult to put up (you need to pull it out to the greatest extent before it clicks into place, but it still has the legs inside the front panel. The wind out version is easier, but at a much larger weight consideration. Ian.

This one just seems to be new out, the legs are built in and there seems to be some sort of new tension device on the side.

Hi Clive.
Fiamma Caravanstore Zip Awnings seem to be quite popular on here. Fiamma CaravanStore
2.5? The width quoted is 2.25.

We have an Omnistor 2000 (as per Logburner) which re-winds into its box, permanently attached to the Eriba. We like it and do not find it difficult, although really it needs the 2 of us to operate it. I have previously had Fiamma CaravanStores and feel there is not much to choose between them and Omnistors. For me the main difference is that the CaravanStore bag can quite easily be removed (for whatever reason) whereas the Omnistor has to remain permanently in position.

I did post earlier about our CaravanStore being destroyed in a storm at Lake Garda. On that occasion the roof rafter flew out and penetrated the roof of our V70 (!). No roof rafter on an Omnistor as the roof supports are integral, so probably all-round the Omnistor-in-a-box is the more rugged item. However, your chances of being caught up in a Lake Garda scenario are probably remote. After that event, we always kept an eye open for windy conditions, and if in doubt took the CaravanStore down. We still do the same with the Omnistor. All said, they are all good for moderate conditions.....wind seems to be a problem for us all these days!
