Picked up my 1995 Puck at the weekend. Just checking it out yesterday. Cooker burners work, but fridge wont light and neither does the heater.
Then I check the data Info on the fridge and it specifies 50mbar. Check the Heater and the data info there states 50mbar. Round to the gas bottle.
It has a propane bottle but a 37mbar regulator ??!!. Just ordered a 50 mbar regulator from Ebay.
Anyone else had this problem??

Have a look at my topic
How to: Modify an Imported Eriba for UK Use

50 mbar sounds wrong to me.

Looking at the sticker stuck to the back of the fridge it specifies 50mbar and also the Truma heater on a small sticker on the base also specifies 50mbar.
Neither the fridge nor the heater will work on the present 37mbar regulator and even the two burners on the hob unit dont look that good.
I can get pics if you want?

The regulations I looked up suggest otherwise.
Before you fit a regulator of 50 m bar I suggest you consult a caravan fitter or service agent for your own safety and peace of mind.

The 50 m bar stickers may just refer to a maximum pressure

See this page and in particular the pdf file at the bottom where this comes from.

http://www.calor.co.uk/help-and-advice/technical-and-safety/gas-cylinders/caravanning-with-lpg/using-calor-safely-in-caravans

Zitat
The Regulator
A suitably rated regulator must be included in the connection between the
cylinder and the appliance. The regulator is precisely set to control the
pressure of the supply and Must Not Be Adjusted. Replace any regulator,
which is not working properly, or after 10 years’ of life. Regulators must be
marked BS3016 or BSEN12864
For Caravan Holiday Homes and Residential Park Homes the regulator must have an
outlet pressure of 28 mbar for Butane and 37 mbar for Propane and be marked BS3016 or
BS EN 12864 (for cylinder use) or BS EN 13785 when connected to a piped supply. Where
an Automatic Change Over Device or Regulator is fitted to multiple Propane cylinder
installations, this must have an outlet pressure of 37 mbar and be marked BS EN 13786.
For Touring Caravans and Motor Homes, in 2003 BS EN 1949 was introduced which
requires the appliances be supplied at 30 mbar for either Butane or Propane. This regulator
must be marked BS12864 Annex D. Where an Automatic Change Over Device or Regulator
is fitted to this must be marked BS EN 13786 Annex D.
Touring Caravans and Motor Homes, produced before 2003 require an outlet pressure of
28 mbar for Butane and 37 mbar for Propane and must be marked BS3016 or BS EN
12864.
Guidance will be given in the manual for your caravan and a label attached to the gas inlet
in the gas locker.

This is on the base of the Truma Heater.
Its states: Nenndruck 50Mbar. (Nenndruck means Nominal Pressure.)
Cant post pic for some reason

Personally I would still check with a caravan service company before fitting your new regulator.

Goldpanner, you could very well be right. But everything I've seen on this topic bears out what Hob says: the regulator needs to be 37Mbar. Is it worth the risk? There could be several reasons why the appliances won't work. You've obviously had the fridge out, for example (to be able to read the sticker on the back); have you established if there's any gas at the burner?

The sticker was on the inside of the fridge. A friend had a Dutch bought Pan and that had a 50 mbar regulator on it.
Ill probably run it down to Autoleisure.
I can see the spark through the fridge window but it wont light and the heater wont light either. I might take a peek inside the heater.

Given that you just picked up the van at the weekend I'd be back round to whoever you purchased it off and asking them a few questions.
Was this a private or commercial sale?

If the van is an older German or Dutch import, it may well work on 50 Mb, try this web site
http://www.gaslowdirect.com/epages/cyujr...mu67/Categories
Try phoning this company, I found them very helpful, and remember most caravan outlets in UK wont have much clue about imported vans

just a thought
it may be that the isolator in cupboard is switched off for the heater and fridge
that's if the eriba has gas isolator taps

Eriba troll 540 likes constant hugs, and buffs and the odd cuppa.

I'm with "Wordspace", and "Pop540" on this..........sounds like no gas at the appliance end. If pressure was too low, I think it would still have lit, although only burnt low, if pressure was meant to be higher. Ian.

Spiders in the jets? Too low a temperature for the gas?
Duff thermocouple.
I thought most vans were fitted with a 30mb regulators nowadays.
