12v electrics problem

Quick query if anyone has any suggestions. The electrics on our french import 1984 Familia are puzzling us. Everything works on 240v. The 12v system was 2 x square lantern batteries that worked the water pump and the lights, this has now been replaced with a normal leisure battery. The lights have two bulbs, one that works on the 240v and one that works on the 12v system. The problem is the lights are not working on the 12v system but if we run the wires direct to the lights from the battery they work so its not the bulb. We are getting power to were it disappears behind the sink but not getting power to either light. Its as though a fuse has blown or something is switched off but we cannot find a switch or fuse box apart from the 240v fuse box.

Confused? We are....

Yes they are the lights, but they just don't work on 12v unless we run a wire from the battery direct to them. Did you have any other switch, inline fuse or fuse box in your Puck?

Thanks Hob, I've checked your blog and i think we might have to do the same and rewire, but it seems odd that both lights wiring has broken. Will have a further look at the weekend.

Scrap that last comment, because of course it splits from one to the other so we just need to work out which one is first in the circuit and replace the wire to that one, hopefully

Although it probably has no bearing whatsoever on the debate so far, when we wired 2 new lights into our Troll, I tried for ages to get them to work only to find that the Eriba wiring was Blue=Live, Brown=Neutral
