Any one suggest some insurers to try for quotes and have you been happy with service should the unforeseen have happened.

It would appear that folk use several companies. Here's a list of some of them:-
Towergate.
Saga.
Caravan Club.
Camping and Caravanning Club.
My Caravan Insurance.
K.Drewe.
Safeguard.
Scenic.

Towergate have had a few "issues"over the last three or so years,
so look into their business carefully, their problems may be resolved
now but buyer beware.

we used caravan club insurance. As you know we started policy in morning, and had to make a claim, for the same afternoon. So far so good, works all been approved by loss adjuster, and caravan club have authorised repairs... Hopefully 'Colin' will be home soon... Will raise a big fandango message when he is finally home... Especially now that sun is shining, need to be on tour...

Get a quote , just a quote, from Carefree in the C&CC magazine. You get free entry for a Qashqui or whatever it is.

Hiya I got mine today for an Eriba Troll 540gt fully comp 100 excess which is also insured (cost an extra tenner which is included in the price) 30 days European travel cover. Unlimited use all the usual flood, vandalism, accident, theft etc, the price £124 for 12 months. Legal cover included
had to haggle but got there in the end. I got the insurer off www.InsuranceForCaravans.co.uk hope that link works if not let me know. also had no claims as this being the first caravan I have insured.

It all depends of course on how much you are insuring for including contents, awning, equipment etc. and it is always better to be over- rather than under-insured.

Two weeks ago I paid a total of £139 .47 to Alan Blunden, Southend-on-Sea (www.cover4caravans.co.uk) for:

caravan - £11,000
contents - £1,000
awning - £500
cover also includes legal protection (£10)
(excess £100)

Conditions:
1. hitchlock and wheel clamp to be fitted at all times caravan is detached from the vehicle
2. wheel clamp to be fitted if van left unattended while attached to vehicle.

I have been with Blundens for the past four years renewing with them each time because their rates were so competitive. They were also the most helpful people that I spoke to as a new owner seeking my first caravan insurance in 2011 so, obviously, I can recommend their services..

Hi all
Caravan insurance.just want to check that I'm not being charged too much at £325

Just wanted to update you regarding the caravan insurance talked to the caravan and camping club today managed to get a little discount. From £325. With no requirement for weel clamp whilst unattended attached vehicle or not but a hich lock must be fitted
To £177.00 with still no requirement for weel clamp whilst unattended attached vehicle or not but a hich lock must be fitted
I talk to one insurance company and they require hich lock and wheel clamp whilst unattended even when attached to a vehicle and I asked the question if you leave the vehicle to pay for fuel in a garage, is it insured because I thought it unreasonable to suggest that the weel clamp should be fitted just to pay for fuel. Their answer it's not insured, let me say that again it's not insured.

You also need to take the choice of Market Value or New for Old on a policy.
I personally always go for a new for old policy to ensure that if the worst happens I'll be all right.
