We are anxiously looking forward to being Eriba owners this week ( not had kids but this must be much more exciting!)
We choose the bin which Automotive leisure provide instead of the £70 Eriba one! Just wondered if anyone has got he Eriba one and wonderd what a £70 bin is like and have we done the right thing?

We remember reading the Eriba brochures for the 2014 vans, with several references to the all new bin that was included in the spec of every new Eriba, it seemingly being a selling point. With the big deal made of it, when I first saw the vans and the bin I confess to having been somewhat underwhelmed by the bin! It's a plastic bin with a hinge lid, end of! How it can cost 70 is beyond me. Then again, when I asked how much for a new standard one leg table as we don't like the four legged one that came with our 2014 Triton, they told me 650!!!!!

Didn't know there was a choice. Our 'van was new in March and came with a bin - so don't know if it's a gold plated one or otherwise. Would be interested to see the difference.

A fellow Eriba owner has adapted a hinged lid IKEA container so that it slides into the outside table rail. Keeps the waste stuff outside
and costs less than a fiver. He made me one too!

We use our Eriba bin for keeping the mozzie spray, clean dishcloths and a few bits n pieces in. It's main drawback as a bin is that it narrows right at the top, so it you overfill it (not difficult as its small) when you try and lift the bag out, it can rip the side of the bag and the contents can end up on the floor! Also, you cant put the bag over the top of the bin all the way round like you can a standard kitchen bin, so you have to hold it open when depositing stuff in it.

First world problems eh?! ;)

We were told that the bin was not included and have always found the door bins useful as don't take up floor space. The one you have Blueyonder sounds like the last type we had in last caravan. Will have to wait and see. 😀
We recycle as much as possible and can't get used to not having a compost bin when away. Interesting home made bins and alternative uses!

Well finally unpacked the bin today and it was broken, must have been dropped or kicked by the look of it!
Anyway a phone call to Automotive Leisure and one in the post tonight ;)

With the amount of stuff bought online these days, all having to be delivered by Royal Mail or private courier, it's hardly surprising that some of it gets broken. But I doubt any of it is deliberately and wilfully smashed. Look at it this way: one phone call to AL has got the problem sorted.

Cup half empty or cup half full?

Actually it's surprising (and a testament to how good the likes of UPS, Interlink, Hermes and the rest are at their job) that much more stuff doesn't end up as a small pile of bits.

I used to have to make regular trips to Interlink's regional distribution hub near Kidderminster a few years ago - before the real explosion in Internet shopping - and even then the sheer volume of stuff tanking round on miles of conveyors was quite amazing.
