Seperate bank accounts? One gives you cover under your name for so long, then the other gives your husband / partner cover from your run out date? Just a thought, you'd need to look seriously at the "small print" as most insurers insist that cover is taken out at 0215 on a night with a full moon and a werewolf singing "angels" accompanied by an 86 year old male who is a bigamist

Know what you mean about insurance companies. When I first started work in 1974 (showing my age) it was in the accounts department of a large insurance company. As part of my training I did a spell on the claims department. What an eye opener, the biggest con at that time was when coals had jumped out of a fire and singed the carpet. If they could get away with it they always offered a rug to cover the burnt patch rather than replace the whole carpet. What was amazing was the amount of policyholders who settled for the rug. This is why I always read the small print and hence why I discovered that my bank would only cover me for 45 days.
It takes a while but I would always advise reading the whole policy, the b*ggers will hide all sorts from you if you let them.
