Channel Crossings

Out of idle curiosity I've been browsing various crossing routes this afternoon and noticed that while many of the DFDS Dover-Dunkirk crossings are fully booked for out September 01 return September 30, all their Dover-Calais crossings are available.

I wonder why?

Just phoned P&O regarding Dover/Calais ferry crossings.

They inform me that all is almost back to normal. However the reason for my phone call was to find out if a ticket could be purchased upon arrival at the port. We don't particularly want to risk forward booking only to find that the problems flare up again.

The answer is yes but there may be a long wait of several hours to get a place on a ferry and the cost of travelling could be as much as 200% more than pre-booking.

Looks like it might be Scotland for us in September

Oh, the poor Scots. What have they done to offend you?

Well, they may be a foreign country the next time we consider it.
