I remember earlier this year suggesting a links section at the other place only to be told rather rudely "that's what google is for"

Now after having a links section opened here I see there are no less than 6 links sections recently opened there.

I made a few suggestions to them as well! but as far as I know they didn't me up on them

I think they think they are superior lol

Firstly, May I congratulate you on creating this thread which is the 200'th on this forum

Regarding your point, a few of us, fed up with the "owners restraints" at the other place, decided that intelligent Eriba owners like yourself should have a haven where your good ideas would be appreciated and acted upon.
This is truly "the Eriba People's" forum.
