Eriba differences?
Hi, we are still looking for our first eriba, and have a couple in mind, but wondered if anyone can explain the differences with the colours I.e. Why do some have yellow stripes on the outside and some purple?
Thanks for your help,
Paul & Caz

As far as I am aware the different colours are for different years but most models merge into each year. I had one with the purple it was a year 2000 this year also included the yellow stripe. Hope that helps a little there will be more comments shortly on more knowledgeable Eriba owners than me.

Coincidentally, I've been trying to gather pictorial information this week to try and prepare a blog detailing the colour changes and other major changes to Eribas over the years but it's not that easy as changes tend to overlap quite considerably. For example, I've come across Puck L's with a 2001 manufacture date still having an external locker box whereas others made in 1999 have flush lockers.
Anyway, as a rough guide.
All Eriba models up to late '70's :- g2p1711-Puck-Texaco.html
Eribas cream with a low, dark brown "plimsoll line" like this one g3p179-s-Eriba-Pan.html are late 1970's up to about 1988.
Eribas cream with a silver "plimsoll line" and red and white coach stripes like this one g3p1048-Lou-s-Pan-Familia.html are roughly from 1988 to 1994.
Eribas white with a silver "plimsoll line" and purple or green stripes like these g3p806-Pan-Jubilee-Edition.html and g5p491-Super-Puck.html are roughly from 1995 to 2000/2001 with the yellow stripe g5p441-Eriba-Puck.html 1996 to 2001/2002.
Later during this period, around 1999, the now familiar split front window and integral locker box was introduced like this one:- g3p139-Familia.html but as I've said above, this major modification can be found on most Familias, Tritons and Trolls from 1999, but the mod. on Puck L's was a little more random.
Later Pucks never went for a split window and from about 2001 the front windows were removed and the "Blind Puck" was introduced g2p1044-German-Puck.html until manufacture ceased in 2010.
On all other models, the most distinguishing feature of later models is the rear light cluster as well as the colour change to this:- g3p1040-Familia-GT.html
Earlier than about 2000 light clusters are g1p1041-Dutch-Yellow-Stripe.html
From about 2000 to 2005 they are g1p1042-German-troll-in-Spain.html
From about 2005 to 2010 they are g1p121-Troll.html
From about 2010 the Eriba started to look like this:- g3p274-Familia.html
The above is a hastily complied guide with rough dates of changes and I would be most grateful if other members could comment on the contents.

Hi Roger, the new look roof started in 2009, with the Troll Forever Young, however I am not sure about the other models if they all changed at the same time. I think the transition to Bad Waldsee slowed things down.

Well spotted that man.
Thanks John. You are quite right. I've just looked up Last Days at Cernay. and the final photo of the last ever Eriba made in France is:-

I'll amend my post to suit.
