I have noticed that the motor mover is also in front of the wheels,? I've not seen that before, the norm is generally behind the wheels to avoid damage to the mover.

Any ideas why Hymer didn't colour the roofs of the new GTs silver to match the rest of the bodywork?

I think it looks odd in this shot recently posted in the picture gallery:

Not sure what the position is with coloured gel coats? I guess at least 90% of the fibreglass I have seen is white.

Many boats have coloured gel coats.
However many more are white, as are caravans and Motorhomes. Is it to do with minimising heat absorption?

Fibreglass car bodies are not all white, so what's the problem, I wonder? Pfennig-pinching?

But surely, silver will reflect heat just as well as white. Won't it?

You could have the roof vinyl wrapped in a colour to suit? That would also help against the degredation!

Likes to wax and have a smooth finish! Has an empty space where once a very polished Eriba stood😎

For some of our newer members who haven't seen it, here's the Vinyl Wrap ( no it's not Agger's new single )

The Eriba Wrap.....

The wrap is an interesting alternative, the longevity of the product isn't too good, approximately 5 years appears to be the general consensus before the cold and UV deteriorates the vinyl.

I think the white roof links it to the classic look. Without it more people would say Hymer have have got it wrong and gone too far. Step change evolution.

Yes, it was the look of the Eriba that first attracted us. When made further enquiries and had a look inside we were sold - no more camping for us. We think the grey and white is the best colour scheme but I guess its all a matter of taste.

In my research to make a solar water heater I learned black is best white is worst, gloss finish reflects some solar energy matt reflects less, so a gloss white finish is best at reflecting heat and matt black is worst............ all others fall somewhere between depending on their reflection or absorption capabilities.

We were tent campers when the girls were young, cottages having got too expensive. Went to the NEC to look at folding camper/trailer tents. Was astounded at the price. Next door to the Pennine stand was Lechlade with the Eribas. The rest was history, we had a look round all the models, fell in love with the PuckL, went on EribaAmiga and found ours down in Kent. Went armed with a lot of money and came home with our Eriba. Happy days.
We love the classic white over silver but Neil has a secret hankering after the dimple finish. In the end they are all Eribas.
