The five day forecast

The five day forecast from the met office is something I look at just about every day of the year and in the caravan season can be a very powerful influence on how to proceed

Earlier in the year I bought a caravanstore sunshade 2 weeks before a planned trip and was keen to take it with me to try it out, however after a look at the five day forecast the day before departure decided to take the porch awning instead.

Enter the postcode in the dialogue box and from the nearby places list that appears pick either the place you want or the nearest one.

You can do this up to 5 times and have a list of destinations all one click away

this shows 5 different parts of my 3 week trip to the meet and following trip last summer

If you bookmark the page and have cookies enabled on your pc every time you open that bookmark the places you chose will already be there all you need do is click on each name to get the 5 day forecast for that place.
Not going back to a place? click the X next to the name and its gone.

Got family in another part of the country............... you can set your home forecast and their forecast and swap between the 2 to see the weather at both places.

Weather forecasting has improved a lot over the past few years but is still not 100% but does give a fairly good indication of what to expect.

You can't change the weather................ but you can get a good idea of what to expect.

Those fur lined y fronts are defo not 38° friendly!

But the latex ones are even worse!
Have you considered swapping S&M for M&S....... .

So can we rely on any forecast?
When doing a serious check I use a Norwegian website and it's pretty accurats as much as they all can be.

Been meaning to update this for a while now as the 5 day is now a 7 day forecast ............... worth a look before you go away

Enter a town or postcode to get any area forecast

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecast/

Rather like me thinking I'm good looking it's not always too accurate but it will give you some idea,
you can have more than one area listed but that needs cookies allowed in your web browser as the area's are stored on your pc in the form of cookies.

Or you could simply download the BBC Weather app to your smartphone.

(I also download and install Météo France for the continental jaunts and delete it when we return so as to save memory usage)

Another luddite here Nev. Just got my first smartphone, no instructions so waiting for the daughter to visit for Christmas and explain how to turn it on. Then once it's on how to use it.
Apparently I will be able to have "apps", the weather would be useful. If I can get it to work (the 'phone, not the weather).
