.... quick question .... and probably a silly one ... but we are new to Eribas .... (1993 Familia)

Should the net curtain - fly screen thingy ... thats on the inside of the pop top .... drape over the inside of the aluminum trim rail ... or be tucked in behind it ????? see pictures ..

Tuck it behind the rail, otherwise the midges will find you.....

Yes, inside the rail and be sure that is tucked in well before lowering the roof.

This is easier said than done as the corners have an annoying habit of pulling out just as you think you've got it all tucked away correctly.

Is it really necessary to tuck it in when the roof is down?

I don't know, Tony, but that's what Steve at AL told me to do in his pre-delivery chat.

You have to be careful not to get the mesh caught up in the latches when you lower the roof as it may get damaged and having it tucked away is neater and makes this less likely to happen.

So far as I'm aware, there are no hard and fast 'rules'. It's like switching off the mover with the red key before towing. Again, Steve told me to do it so that's what I do but I think there are others who don't bother and haven't had anything go bang.

Yes I'm with you on all that.
I usually leave the mover switch on because I need to get the van unhitched and off the road as quickly as possible at home.
On current models the 12v system is cut off when the towing electrics are activated. They have to be manually reconnected when needed by a switch usually mounted on the wardrobe side. So if you wish to use the toilet en route you must remember to use the switch!
However the mover circuit is left active presumably because the mover is wired directly to the battery?

Oh, if only it were that simple!

Picture this:

1. stop at layby,

2. chuck two heavy and bulky rolled-up Duvalays to rear of caravan,

3. haul two folded up bikes in bags out and stand them at roadside,

4. open washroom door and remove a) watering can, b) waste water tank and c) box containing shoes

5. use toilet (manual flush).

6.repeat all the above in reverse order, wedging everything back in place with cushions

7. close caravan door.

8. realise after all that effort and faffing about that another pee is now desperately needed

9. proceed to obtain relief at the roadside in the accepted French manner thinking, 'Why didn't I do this in the first place?'

10. breathe sigh of relief,

11. proceed with journey by now totally knackered.
