Hi

Ive searched as best i can and can't find any posts on this, so hopefully i'm not replicating.

1. Are all the bulbs in the Van 12v?

2. Has anyone used LED replacements in an effort to reduce power consumption

maybe something like this :-

that was meant to be a link, but can't find how to put it in like that.

Regards Steve

It has long been a problem to newcomers both inserting and seeing links in posts ( a quirk in the forum software)

With that in mind I wrote a "how to" topic on posting links
sometimes the software if it recognises a url will make it a link automatically (just to confuse things)

How to post a link in a topic

Now for recognising them, the software usually underlines links so any underlined text may be a link also if you move your mouse over it the text will turn red and the mouse pointer will turn into a little hand.

Hope thats helpful

There has been some talk about the quality of 12v produced in an eriba by the onboard transformer which may even be ac rather than dc and with that in mind I bought the ones I linked to in that topic

G4 24 Led Warm White IP67 Waterproof 12v AC/DC 180 Lumen

Which I fitted about 18 months ago, they still work fine and give off about the same light as the old ones did.

I replaced all my interior and awning lights with 'LEDS' , some years ago and am completely happy with them. Purchased from www.ultraleds, as mentioned above. I believe that there can be a 'flickering' problem with some cheaper or non ac/dc leds, but should be no problem anyway if your van has a 12volt 'leisure' battery in the lighting circuit which has the effect of 'smoothing' the poor DC provided by the Eriba transformer !

Having said this, the Awning Light does not get power via the battery, so a god quality ac/dc led is best to prevent 'flicker' !

I replaced my interior lights mainly because of the heat from the halogen bulbs causing the silver paint on the lamp fittings to burn and flake off !! There are two 'colours' of led light output - Warm white (close to the halogen output) and Cool white which is very white - choice is yours :) From what I've heard it's best to avoid the very cheap leds that can be found on the net !

There is a choice of bulb fittings depending on the original bulbs - all mine except the awning light, are the 'disc type' for G4 halogen two pin capsule bulbs. Choose an equivalent wattage to match the halogens you're replacing :)

Hope this helps - all depends on your original lamp bulbs etc., but there is a wealth of help and info here from other members - good luck !

I used 'Diall' 2.2w G4 LEDs as replacement bulbs in our Troll. bought from any B&Q
slightly more expesive than online, but I like to see what I'm getting before I pay.
£10 for two (or £9 on Wednesday with the 'diamond' card).
1 each in the reading lamps and 2 in the awning light.
