A few weeks ago I needed a new pair of testicles so off I trotted to Vision Express, I use them as I wear Oakleys, not for vanity but because I have such a FAT HEAD! and prefer the skull grabbers as opposed to over the ear jobbies.

I had a very sweet and absolutely lovely young Irish lady who was a trainee Opthalmologist, and I was asked if it was ok for her to "test me" I have no problem with this as without it how do we learn?

On testing my eyes she noticed I had a blocked tear duct, it must be down to Christmas, Bah Humbug! She said she would have to notify my doctor, no problem I said BUT I can sort that myself with warm water and a chisel

So on our return from Exmouth, in the post I have a Hospital appointment!!! Really! I sorted the tear duct that night in the shower.

I'm sorry but I'm an old school bloke who unless I have seriouse need to go to hospital I stay away from them and my doctor.

I always use this advise to others though; if your cars broken you take it to a garage, a Hospital is a human garage where we go to get fixed

Agger has had cause recently to see both my doctor and the physioterrorist due a really bad back pain, I've had an ECG, blood tests, Prostate test, urine, and a coure of physio and tablets but it's still there!

But to go for a blocked tear duct is I'm sorry just not me.

I love the NHS and after all my treatments thanked them on Twitter and I'm always polite and couteous to ALL the staff (Becky our daughter is an A & E nurse)😎

Hello.
I have a bad back and have been waiting since June for physiotherapy. Just had a letter today must return in 10 days to stay on waiting list.
Have to say after 7 operations the staff are always amazing. And cannot praise them enough.

Still looking for a good puck

I knew I could self refer so did that as I could'nt get a doctors appointment for 6 weeks!! Then when I saw my doctor he offered physio and I told him I'd self referred and he was glad that I'd shown some self concern!

Without the NHS I wouldn't be towing my puck today, in fact I wouldn't be doing anything today.

I noticed that a tiny hernia had gradually enlarged over the summer. Took 2 weeks to see a GP explaining the problem to HER she said lay on the couch and show the affected area. Pulling my undies UP I exposed the area where the hernia was, grabbing my undies she dragged them down and said "I need to see more than that!" at this point I was more concerned about what THAT referred to. "Oh OK I'll refer you but they probably won't do anything."
A week later I received a phone call asking which local hospital I wanted to go to, a further week and I received a letter telling me when my examination would be. A week later I had my examination and 4 weeks after that went under the knife, in and out the same day. Now 3 weeks later I am recovering well but it put paid to our plans to have a few days in Cirencester pre Christmas - I hate the NHS (only kidding)

Hope your on the mend spent the day at South Cerney with our daughter and 2 grandsons today, really special, came past the Cirencester CC site, spent a lot of time in Cirencester as a kid.

Yesterday, I called into Baltic Wharf at Bristol only 1 Eriba in there and it was one of the BIG ones (a regular there)

Get well soon
