Manchester show

I can hardly believe how quickly the last 12 months have gone but it's the time of year again for the Manchester caravan and motorhome show. We will be calling in over the weekend to have my annual nosey round. Airstream are there and taking Eribas so we can see if there any new changes in design. Anyone else going? Ellen.

It looks like Lowdhams are going as well so you may see some Eribas on their stand as well...

Hello. We're back from the show and although it was very busy we enjoyed having a nosey round. We were delighted to bump in to Julie and John. (Trollhonda). Not seen them in a long time and so enjoyed our natter. The Eriba display was very popular and more people were taking a look inside them than the Airstream. There was a Triton 430 a Familia 320 and. Troll 530 on display. We had wanted a nosey in a 540 so we're a little disappointed however we were really impressed with the 530. It still felt quite roomy despite the fixed bed and the larger dinette seating seemed pretty comfy. We first looked at the newer designs when they first changed shape and at the time some felt to have a clinical appearance inside. The 530 today however felt quite cosy and I can only put that down to the softer looking wood finish and upholstery. So, if ever we feel we really do need more space and a loo then we would look at the 530 as well as a 540. Could i ask if anyone knows if the pop top on the new Eriba is now made of the same material as the roof? On doo-dah they are different making them a slightly different colour. Thank you. Ellen

It was lovely to see you both after so long and to catch up. Not sure if we have persuaded my brother in getting an Eriba but his wife is quite interested, will let you know. Currently looking at the caravan site you told us about and will let you know if we book.

Hi Ellen my 2012 and 2015 Familias both had/have matching top and bottom roof made from the same fiberglass,. I can remember that my 1993 Puck pop top looked a bit different than the roof base because the UV light had made it go chalky by attacking the gel coat....
How did you find the traffic at event city, we stopped going as it took ages getting there and then had to dodge the busy traffic crossing from the car park....

We were really surprised how busy it was as we normally go Friday evening when it's very quiet. We got there for around 10.30 am and the smaller car park that we usually use was full. They had temporary lights on the busy main road making it safer to cross but all in all it was pretty hectic. Ellen.

Just a little note here.
If you ever get bored or uninspired by your eriba, then go to a caravan show.
We went to our first one at Manchester last weekend.
They should have called it the "massive motorhome and fridge show".
Massive lines of rubber stamp caravans.
In the middle was the eriba stand. Unique.
We had a look at the 320. The build quailty was fantastic!
