Don't worry Derek. When folk start talking about music on their phones and blue teeth then I'm with you

Zitat
Quote Hob :- As with betamax wav format has pretty much fallen by the wayside with mp3 being the standard for digital music

Well that's interesting because Mrs R's brand new laptop with Windows 10 has WAV as a default on the Windows media player.
( the more alert of you might have noticed that Mrs R has a brand new laptop whereas I've got a 64Gb memory stick )

Oh how I hate technology.

Probably because .wav is a Microsoft originating format as is windows media player but .mp3 has better compression and almost all downloadable music is these days in .mp3 format.

We bought a Cambridge Audio Minx Go speaker about 18 months ago. It's rechargeable, taking a couple of hours to fully charge and gives more than 12 hours of playing time. The sound quality inside the Troll is exceptional. Being cordless, we can use the speaker in the van, in the awning, outside, and could even take it to the beach.

We have more than 2500 mp3 songs on an sd card, which we have loaded on to a Samsung tablet. The speaker connects to the tablet by bluetooth, and we set it to play randomly.

We have been so impressed with this set up that we've ditched the hi-fi and cds at home, having bought the bigger Cambridge Minx Air 200 for the lounge.

I must be the odd one out here (nothing unusual in that) as I very seldom feel the urge to play music either in the car or caravan.

I couldn't manage without Radio 4 in the UK though or the BBC News app on the 'phone when abroad.

There's nothing like a little regal in-car music to accompany you on a long trip :-A little light music

Now that we've sorted ours out we are very pleased with it and only 15 squids.

The built in rechargeable battery has more than enough power to run the clock overnight (there's also a pair of external batteries as a back up) and the speakers can be used off the mains while the battery is charging. Presumably once the battery is fully charged, the charger will shut down.

We've been trying ours out on the "shuffle" mode so that it randomly selects which tracks to play. Our 4Gb SD card holds more than 1000 tracks.

The FM radio is quite good too and channels can be pre-selected.

I just use a JBL flip4 connected to my iPhone (Spotify). Easy, small and very portable.

Sorry, wrong topic
