Assuming you have the wherewithal to do it, taking a picture of your problem item and including it in your thread is a huge help to anyone keen to assist.

It might be just me, but there have been so many occasions when I've been dying to help but can't for the life of me conjure up a picture of whatever it is that's now in smithereens or is a blackened and misshapen facsimile of its former self.

The thing is that while these vans - and awnings, and accessories - do have a considerable number of parts in common, it's in the nature of them that lots and lots have been modified or otherwise buggered about with over the years. This means that whatever bit of yours is bust, you can't necessarily assume that everybody else's is the same and that they'll instantly know what it is you're attempting to describe.

So if you can, please, please take a photograph and bang it in your post.

Not only will it make a diagnosis and potential remedy easier to determine for those busting a gut to help, but it also acts as a valuable resource for others with similar problems searching the forum later.
