Caravanner of the year

Did anyone see "Caravanner of the year" on TV this evening? Surely this was a joke. Those people could not be serious....could they? One of the organisers wrecked his own caravan and the contestants......well, what can I say`? What did you think?

Did my best to find this on google

If this is it it only confirms my doubts about the caravan club

I agree with pop540, made me cringe, what did the CC chairman think he was doing trying to tow such a huge 'van up a muddy slope, £2000 worth of damage!

However was most impressed with the Welsh guys manoeuvring skills, how he got that twin axle Bailly round that tree 👏 Respect !!
Pity we didn't see more of the retro Puck.

Chris

Don't belong to the Caravan Club but that Grenville chap would put me right off.
The ex HGV driver showed how reversing should be done, very clever, we used to push our PuckL and the Triton has a mover although we have yet to use it for anything other that getting the Triton up the drive after we picked it up.
I too would have loved to see a bit more of that little Puck.
The overall impression at the end of the programme was "avoid the CC at all costs", mind you even Agger would have been impressed with the cleaning for the concours.

I didn't watch it but Hubby tells me there were V Dubbers with caravans on there! I thought that, with a V Dub pulling our caravan, we were safe from being associated with these numpties!

I think it was just a bit of fun, the ex-HGV driver showed talent as did some of the female partners who were reversing for the first time. I'm not sure why there was a mix of motorhomes and caravans as the reversing skills for each are very different? A real coup for the Caravan Club getting a programme on a major channel.

We aimed to catch it last night then were diverted by a lovely hour on Victoria Wood- Two Soups as good as ForkHandles.
Then a serial we are into, then bed.
Try to catch it today.

Apparently the cc forum has been inundated with disgruntled members.

I've been a CC member for 21 years but I don't think I shall be renewing my membership. I am inclined to claim compensation for the embarrassment and ridicule caused to myself and my wife as caravan owners. I trust cost of the repairs to the chairman's caravan will not be covered by his insurance company and the TV company will likewise not reimburse him for his stupidity.
