We have had a thermo couple fixed,.
One engineer? fitted extra foil under the button to make the connection more positive,

this now over 2/3 years.

Any other ideas chaps?

Trying to source a local mobile one. Chap used before is busy for 3 weeks.

my limited understanding is, these gas hobs stay on when the peg at side of flame get warm when holding button in, once warm the buttons released, hob stays on, this peg and heat 'somehow' keeps the gas safety valve open,
its the 'somehow' you need investigating..

Ok thanks waiting for a mobile to call me about a visit. Carole does say she can manage, I know that, she is marvellous, but why have two when only one works.
