Puck table bracket

Hi all

We recently got a 2000 Puck.

The system for supporting the table. We have a bar across the end of the caravan to which the table attaches. It's all very secure, but shortens the useable length of the bed by about 6".

It's OK if you sleep with your feet under this bar, but sleeping round that way is more difficult for getting in and out.

More pics: It is attached by the worktop counter, glued right around the edge, and reinforced with a bracket underneath.

The reason I ask is because most internal pictures I see of pucks, probably older ones, have the table attach directly to the wall. Has anyone else got this problem? How did you get round it?

Thanks

That looks like an add on Richard. Look at the photos of this 2000 Puck. http://www.eribacaravansales.co.uk/eriba...ssic-2000-sold/

I'm sure a Puck owner will be able to confirm that shortly.

not a puck owner just an eriba supporter

a few years ago a lot of folk were having issues with the table shelf either causing neck ache or feet cramp,, so removed it, somehow adding the table mount bar to the wall.. it may be the holes match up

short answer you can remove and store.. and add the table mount bar to wall

I found an answer at http://www.passion-eriba.org/t4526-table...table-dans-puck (I speak French as well as English). Start at comment 8 if you want to follow it...

Pucks are more widespread in France, mine was indeed manufactured there.

It turns out this is a bugbear with Pucks, someone in Design had the bright idea of including this 'tablette' (=little table) and people end up removing them. The bead around the caravan is on a line with the weight-bearing frame of the caravan, so the table rail can be shortened and screwed into it.

Typical. Somebody in the design department had a "good" idea.

Probably not done a day's camping in their life. They should send them out on a two week camping expedition before they ever sit them at a drawing board

I've removed the 'tablette' - a makeup mirror showed the ledge is screwed in at a jaunty angle at each end. I removed the rail from the ledge easily enough and with immense trouble managed to loosen and remove the metal screws.

The French forum contributors have shortened the rail to reattach it under the window, and some have used the excess to make another rail to attach a smaller table over the fridge. I'd rather keep it intact due to lack of metalworking skills and potentially a cool feature if and when I come to reselling it one day.

Where can I get a new length of rail?
