A few weeks ago I took Pandora (my 1992 Puck) to a local caravan dealer/repairer for a service. He said he was impressed with the little fridge as the gas had ignited immediately and it had chilled down quickly. However, whilst on my first trip away in Pandora I attempted to use the fridge on gas for the first time but couldn't get it to ignite at all, which was a pain as I was staying in a campsite with no hook ups.
On my way home I took Pandora back to the dealer who had serviced her, and he couldn't get the gas to ignite either so decided to remove the fridge in order to investigate. On removing the fridge, he discovered the space behind it had been stuffed with a load of yellow insulation (looked like ripped up loft insulation), and he said it shouldn't have been there and he had no idea why it was there. However, he also said that although the dealership had serviced a few Eribas over the years, they had never removed a fridge from one so couldn't say whether there is normally such insulation behind the fridge.
She has now been left there so they can work on the fridge ignition problem tomorrow, but I'm concerned about the insulation. Should there be insulation stuffed down the back of fridge in my Puck? If so I will need to advise them that the insulation will need to be replaced,.
Any advice on this would be appreciated. Thanks
