Hi Pepe,
I had to start a new thread because I was unable to upload the photos mentioned in my original post. Here then are the pics with my questions hopefully attached.
1) The first pic Fiamma & Aqua roll. I guess the A roll is for collecting water on site. But not sure about the Fiamma 23 ltr water tank, does it collect the waste water? and do I have to buy a 3mtr long flexy pipe to connect it? and where do I connect it to? Fiamma & Aqua Roll.jpg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)

2) The freshwater tank situated under front single bed. I presume that I fill this via the key locked filler cap near the cassette poo tank. There is also an electric point next to it and I'm guessing that the twin rubber hose with the electrical end terminals is used to pump the water from the Aqua roll? via the key locked filler cap?Freshwater tank.jpg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)

3) Poo tank 3 (sorry for the terminology) pic shows tank removed. I'm wondering what the sliding cover (shown half open) is used for.

4) Truma water heater? Pepe covered this I believe in his post, so I'll read that next.

5) Cupboard under the sink in shower room. I presume that the grey flexi pipe is the waste. Does the water just run out under the van or is it collected in the Fiamma 23ltr container.

6) Shows the electrics box with 1 main switch and 4 others in a row. The blue box in the background is labelled Caravan Lade System CSV 409

7) Poo tank 1 this shows tank in situ plus the twin rubber hose with electrical end terminals as mentioned in 2 above

8) This just shows the back of the Truma heater,.....just in case.

I'll upload these and await your Much Appreciated response.

9) The photo 3 shows the tank inserted, the correct photo would have shown it removed with a sliding cover half open when viewed from the top and I wondered when you would use it.

1: I reckon the Aquaroll is for feeding the onboard tank. See 2. The other tank is for waste water. Put it under the waste outlet pipe (a grey corrugated job) which exits the caravan just inboard from the bottom edge of the body, probably on the nearside and most likely behind the wheel.

2: My set up isn't the same. If I were you I'd try it. The worst that can happen is a shoe full of water.

3 and 9: The rectangular cover should be slid closed. There's a right way and a wrong way to fit it but they're easily confused. If you look on the cover there's a little arrow embossed onto one edge. Match that with the arrow on the tank body and you'll have it right.

The cover slides open when you insert the tank into the van. The green knob opens the circular flap - it swivels sideways - and the way it is on your picture is how it should be when you slide the tank in. The lever next to the bog seat inside turns this knob and opens the flap so you can flush the contents of the bowl into the tank.

You'll need to remove the sliding cover altogether and open the flap when cleaning the cassette. If you part fill it with water to rinse it out - having closed the flap first - don't shake the cassette vigorously. You might dislodge the level indicator float inside, and that's a proper PITA to fix. Sloosh it round gently before emptying it through the nozzle. Pressing the green button opens a valve to ease the airlock inside when emptying.

And don't drop the green nozzle cap into the sewage disposal.

4: That is indeed the heater. The drain cocks I mentioned before are to the left of it.

5: The best way to check is pour some water down the plughole and look to see where it comes out under the van. See number 1.

6: Those are the main electrics. The heater controls mentioned previously will be elsewhere, probably on the side of the wardrobe. You won't have to lift any furniture to get at them.

7: Correct. See 1 and 2.

8: Also correct.

General advice is to suck it and see* You're unlikely to break anything, flood anything or blow yourself up.

*This general advice does not apply to the toilet cassette.

That's the correct way to ask questions, Barney, with lots of pictures so those in the know, like Pete, can visualise your problem and offer wise advice.

Many thanks to Pepe and Hob. I will check it all out tomorrow and maybe come back if I get stuck.

Not sure about the "Suck it and See" bit. Theres no way the end of the twin rubber hose is being sucked by me.

barny.

The twin rubber hose is definitely for filling the onboard water tank from the aqua roll.

Hi

id use the round aqua roll for fresh water and the rectangle container for grey water, you will need another container bucket for kitchen if all grey pipes are not connected under floor, like ours, we use a bucket for bathroom sink waste, grey water, and a container for kitchen sink grey water.

fixed onboard water tank picture 2, so that's what they look like
there is a blue top and red top if look further back there is a grey hose, this is the filler hose and if you follow it to wall just approx. locate then pop outside and see if there is a filler in the approx. same place..
remembering a motorhome system, to empty you many need to remove red cap or blue cap and look for a plug or bung, best look when empty,
fill when get to site, and empty out before travelling, waters heavy and can upset the dynamics while towing.

the loo flush is the upper green top in picture 3, on our loo we empty via a clear tube into a bucket, removing filling lid to speed up the process, we no longer add the pink flushing fluid,

nice photos btw

Hi all, and thank you for your interest and help.
I spent some time checking everything out, thanks to the forum. The waste water from kitchen and shower both drain to a pipe on the nearside just behind the wheel. So that I can easily connect to the grey square tank (1 above), checked all drain outlets which operated by small rad style knobs under the seats. Filled water tank, no problem. All in all ok, but majority of stuff was retro dealer fitted and not Hymer.

One thing though, the water heater, a Truma Therme (exactly as per Hobs web page above,....Thank you) doesn't have a variable thermostat, being the cheaper model it just heats the water up to 65* then switches off which is ok if the thermostat is set to 65*. Ours heats the water up way above making it impossible to touch. I know that we have a mixer tap but I can remember Truma advising not to have the boiler temp too high to avoid lime scale. I will get the thermo adjusted when I have it serviced.

For info, I spoke to the Eriba dealer who supplied the van new, (Airstream Cumbria) and asked about service costs. They are: service £199, water check £99. He said that only a Hymer dealers water check would meet the warranty requirement. I seem to remember reading here that that is incorrect. I will contact Hymer when I get straight and get it verified one way or t'other. Since my van is under cover in a 3 sided car port I will more than likely get it annually checked by the mobile service guy who does all Doms vans at North Walsham.

Ref Summer Meet, will check it out to see if we can make it. Meantime many thanks.
