I have a 1992 puck 120 which has a really low awning rail.We have had a Khyam Motordome Classic quick erect awning on it before. Now we need a replacement and wondered if the Khyam Motordome Tourer would be lower where it attaches to the rail to lessen the sag of the tunnel part? There may be awnings with a lower rail attachment ,but we like the rapidex quick erect system. This helps when it's raining and packing up.

Hello Julierose

A quick look on the Khyam website shows that the new Motordome Classic 380 is larger than the previous incarnation. With regards to the saggy tunnel connection, we use an old pole from a dome tent to take up the slack (commonly called a rain pole) which makes for a slightly tidier appearance. Have to agree that they are very convenient and east to use and dry out after a wet pack up.

When our existing Motordome finally expires (7 years old and still going strong) we will probably get another because of their longevity.

I looked at the differences last year when searching for a second hand Motordome and I'm fairly sure the only difference is the foot print not height. They are both designed to be the perfect height for a VW camper with either 2.5m square or 3m square plus tunnel. As Marmite states the 380 is larger at 3.8m long and 3m wide plus tunnel.

we use some outwell poles connected to some pegs to make a hoop on out drive away awning to lift up the fabric tunnel.

not sure which brand of drive away awning but there is a taller model for the motorhomes.., it be probably large enough to park eriba in

I use a telescopic clothes prop to take up the slack. Cheap & cheerful & works a treat :-D
