Hello Eriba Experts,
Our Puck L has started to shed its pop top rubber seal..... is it changing into summer plumage?

Appears that the inner flange is coming away from the main seal. I've looked on the pages here and its fairly straight forward to replace.... but i'm wondering if buying a suitable replacement on e bay will do the job or whether i should buy the original Hymer Part from AL or Jandi. Significant price per metre difference prompts the question. The current item has a strip flange which rests on the roof on the inside of the pop top when its lowered but i quite like the look of the seal with an 'O' flange attached. Whats the consensus of opinion on the way forward?

Unless of course, once it has shed the old flange will it grow a nice new one for the summer?

Second question - we have a strange nylon wire sticking out of one of our window blinds which is causing the blind to ruck when raised and sometimes forces it out of the runner, this makes our pride and joy look unsightly and up=sets Jackie. Whats to be done? How can i resolve this problem?

Help people! I'm 'a feared' that our Puck may migrate and a sad Jackie means poor quality provender for me!!

Martin....worried, North Devon.

The nylon "wire" is part of the device that fixes the blind material to the roller. The blind will have to be dismantled to push it back in again. Happened to me a couple of weeks ago, I found it quite straight forward to fix.

Same happened with mine - as you have said ,dismantle the blind on the side required and push back in or if only a bit is sticking out, it may be simpler to trim off the offending bit !

As far as the Pop Top seal is concerned - well its only a finishing trim to the fibre-glass edge, not a 'weather seal' as such - so fit whatever looks good you is my advice !

The wire happened to me too, I just cut it off, that was 6 years ago, blind still works ok so I'm not really sure why its there.

the nylon holds the blind material in the groove, remove the four screw to get blind off wall
then remove the small screws right side opposite end to where you re tension the blind
unwind the blind and push the nylon back in then put back together
tension then screw to wall

just be aware the sides can fall off as long as you park the blinds its easy enough to re attach

just did the front blind last week it decided not to work

The only blind problem I had was one of the bottom brackets had sheared across the plastic. Repaired with ideas in here and seems OK.

Duh! Journeyed to Plough Lane at Chippenham yesterday, what a nice site although they told me to take my flag down.
We opened the van tp pitch and everything and found the same damn blind had collapsed, this time a screw in the top had come out. That had bent everything and broke the repair I did last time. It was a nightmare trying to assemble it again and in the end I drove into town and bought two packst of No10 and No 12 screws on the basis the material wouldn'd hold the previous. It works but I still need to repair withthe araldite as before, but that's at home.

The other blind had loose screws too so have tightneed them, but now wondering about other journeys.

You are the very rich kind uncle (you are much older than me Tony?) that's obviously going to fund it.......just for a rolle rblind? Thanks buddy.

What does concern me is what the screws are locating into. On trying these slightly thicker screws, they go so far in and then stop as if too long, but they are the same lengh as the old ones. Maybe some metal behind, therefo more power and self tapper needed.

Any clues please??

On Saturday morning, this was my temp repair before we left Plough Lane Chippenham to drive to near Andover for our scheduled Hash event. Just home an hour agp and Express GafferVan seems to have held together but unsightly - to some eyes!
It is a worry and what do we do about it. The previous repair with Araldite has held firm but other brackets have split, screws are loose (yes I know). To stop the whole thing dropping again, I wedged a brace under the left lower corner and taped that in too.
Going away again in 3 weeks. The blind does work in a fashion, but the long term is my main concern.

Derek, I assume you're talking about the end caps at the bottom of each side of the blind.

If yours are the same as mine...... just google "remis blind end cap"

You can buy spare parts for your Seitz blinds. Here's one possibility but no doubt there are others around. As you can see the parts are left and right handed.

Thanks chaps, will look into it tomorrow.

The main thing is the screws loosening. Will try and find out if there is a steel frame behind, that is the very firm stopper after the screws are about half way in.
