I have a Kia with 4 years left on the warranty, I had no hesitation in going to my usual tow bar fitter rather than pay the ridiculous price Kia want. I don't believe that not having it fitted by Kia will affect the warranty on the mechanical parts and if the fitter is any good you shouldn't need to worry about your electrics
