2010 Puck 230L Noseweight

We are off to Spain this weekend and thought I'd better check the Noseweight, by moving everything I could to the front of the van I was able to get it up to 53kg, bathroom scales method. Does anybody know what the Noseweight "should" be? I have checked the manual and whilst it mentions having the correct Noseweight for the van and tow car combination it gives no actual weight, and of course, the weight plate by the door has the Noseweight section blank! I have LR Defender with a shocklink fitted rated at 80Kgs so what should I aim for with the Puck?

The van is fully loaded, 790Kg, with 1 x 7kg gas bottle in the front locker along with the hook up cable and wheel clamp.

The "guidelines" are between 4% and 7%of the loaded weight so I your case between 31.6 and 55.3Kg personally I would go for the higher

Thanks Eribanaut,

My problem seems to be actually getting near the higher figure. When I took the Puck out for her first proper run I went via my local weighbridge, with what I considered to be minimal personal contents she weighed in at 800Kg, the weighbridge had a + /- tolerance of 10Kg! So of course I told myself it was reading 10Kg over. So problem is I can't load her up with any more to get the weight up, in fact when I first tried, before moving everything to the front it was 40kg, so within the 4 and 7% which is reassuring. What I will do is take out the spare wheel, put it on my roof rack and put another 3.5kg dumpy gas bottle in the front locker together with the wheel clamp and put the EHU cable in the front of the side locker where the spare wheel normally lives, that should do it without going overweight.

The reasoning as I understand it is as follows

1 the hitch has a limit (should be displayed on the chassis somewhere)
2 the towball has a limit which should be displayed on it somewhere
3 the towing vehicle should have a limit (in the handbook)?

The aim is to get as close to the lowest of these 3 without exceeding it.

Hi Hobb,

2 and 3 no problem, 80 and 150 Kg, it's just 1 which seems a bit elusive! Mind you I haven't scrabbled around under the 'van but there's nothing obvious on the hitch, a Winterhoff.
