How to do the bed?

Hello everyone, I need some help!

I have a Pan 200 from 1965. A previous owner made some changes that I really don't understand why they did, and I want to change them back. I'll do my best.
One thing they did was to fix the bed. So now there is two single beds. I really want to have a big bed. To be able to bed up and bed down. (Sorry, I don't know If it's called that in english..?)
Can someone please share some pictures of how it looks like. Those metall legs I have seen in other Eribas are gone so my husband will make new ones. I would really like to see how the rest of it looks like.
I hope this made sense.
Thank you!

Hi Sandra.
Your 1965 Pan is probably the oldest Eriba on our Forum. (love to see some pics).

This is what I've found so far :- Pan.jpg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)

As you can see this diagram shows the seat and table layout and also how it becomes a double bed. I got this information from the 1965 brochure which is in German. http://www.oldiecaravan.de/Hersteller_A_...eriba_1965.html

The way the table and seats become a double bed is probably similar to a newer model Triton 410, or 420

Perhaps someone with one of these models can help?

My puck, 1989 , had 3 1\2 round notches under the seat each side which what looked suspiciously like bits of broom handle fitted into
Then the seat bases pulled together in the middle and the seat backs fitted flat either side of them, the table was not used as part of the bed.

but it was 24 years newer yours may not have been the same?

Thank you Randa and Hob!

But how does it look like under the cushions?

Unfortunately, the previous owner made such a terrible renovation that I'm a little bit ashamed. I didn't see, didn't realise all the errors before I bought it. I was just so happy to have found an Eriba for sale, not too far from my home here in Sweden. They are rare!

I've "borrowed" this pic of a Puck from our Facebook site. It should be similar to your Pan.

Pan-1.jpg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte) Pan-2.jpg - Bild entfernt (keine Rechte)

In the photo you can see the notches (slots) that the cross bars fit into as Hob describes.

Cushions 1 and 2 will have 6mm ply board fixed under them. (the cushion covers will be stapled to the board.

To make the bed, fit the cross bars into the slots and move cushions 1 and 2 over to the middle. Drop cushions 3 and 4 into place (they do not have any board behind them). Cushion 5 (15?) stays in place.

Hope that makes sense.

Where in Sweden are you?

Randa

Thank you guys!

I will upload a photo or two when I reach a computer to downsize the picture(s).

Is there anyone who can help me with the size of the cushions? The length, width and depth on all of them?

depth was about 4 inches (100mm) width meant they were a tight fit across the van when made into a bed, I an 5 ft 8 in tall (1.7m) and slept diagonally in a puck ......... a pan may be bigger?

Hi Sandra and .
Our previous Eriba, a PuckL, had four broom handles that went across the van and the cushions (backed by ply) sat on top as Randafrance (Roger) explained. Our current van, a Triton, has a slatted wooden base that pulls out with metal drop down legs.
As for the cushion sizing easiest way is probably to divide the width of your van into 3. Then make 2 cushions of that size, then divide the last 3rd into two to make the back cushions. Does that make sense, it did in my head but it doesn't read as well as I thought.
Hope this helps.

Would you mind taking pictures of that base pulled out and not pulled out?

Hi Sandra, I'm really not very technically minded. I know there is help on here for posting photos but I don't actually know how to get photos from the camera onto the computer let alone on to the Forum. Always relied on youngest daughter to do these things and she now lives 2 hours away. Hopefully someone with the same set up as my Triton and more computer skills will be along shortly.
Sorry to be so useless and no help at all,
Julie.
