Box section rot.

I bought my first Eriba recently only to discover that there is some penetrated rust in the box section between the offside wheel arch and the front support strut. Any advice on how to deal with this? It looks as though it needs cutting out and a new straight section welded in but I am concerned about burning the floor and would need a professional to do it.

Sorry to say you will probably need to take up the floor to replace the section. Check my earlier posts on Eriba Triton needs welding. I had the same problem. I can walk you through the way to prepare it. If you can clear the area for a welder it does make it cheaper.

Wow! You obviously had major problems. Mine are much less severe so I will see what needs to be removed to free up the area. Firstly I must check the whole van to be sure it is sound elsewhere. Thanks for your encouragement.
