Went extremely well, a couple of minor details...like what holds the right hand cover of the cooker up ?
Until it came to checking the spare wheel, it looked new, had all the little bits of rubber that comes with a new tyre,
but it didn't have a date on it ! My service engineer said it was a pre 2000 tyre Needless to say, I am having a new one fitted tomorrow.
Question....Has anyone had an older tyre than 16 years on their van ?

Yes we did but only after we had it checked out by the company who normally supplies and fits all our tyres.
It was a "brand new 16 year old Dunlop SP" which we were advised on more than one occasion, was perfectly good. We used it as a spare until we were forced to use it in Barcelona. That tyre brought us home safely and when we changed all 3 tyres 18 months ago, our tyre supplier still insisted that it was a perfectly good tyre.
However, for the sake of £55 why risk it?

Andy, presumably you are aware that the tyres on your Eriba have to be to a specific load rating?
This will explain it:- http://www.caravanclub.co.uk/media/10228...d-wheels-mo.pdf
and there's lots of forum discussion on the matter. Just click "Search" and ask for tyre rating.

It's taken 10 days for the fine tuning, but now Eric the Eriba is ready for use. After having him serviced, at great cost !, he has been rewired and, to borrow a phrase from Wheeler Dealers, fettled within an inch of his life. I have relocated the leisure battery to somewhere that gives easier access ( no charger fitted...yet ! ) I have shifted the mains socket from the front of the sink to somewhere less dangerous. I have also had to replace the waste pipe from the sink as it wasn't long enough to reach the ground under the caravan.
I won't be going out this weekend, but next weekend is clear on my calendar, so maybe first proper outing then ?

I had a Ctek smart battery charger fitted when I had a mover/ and leisure battery fitted, this is a clever piece of kit that knows how much to charge your battery, you can leave it plugged into an inside socket and leave the hook -up connected all the time, and your battery will always be charged up ready to go.
