We've been taking advantage of the recent fine weather to get the Eriba ready for this season.
The Truma Gas Heater:-
We've never had a Truma Flue extension but thanks to this thread and the link by Mr Hob, we purchased one last winter :- Pre-departure Checklist Hob's link has expired however but a search of the interweb will find you one.
After a wrestling match with the heater cover I replaced the batteries in the igniter thanks to Mr Calder's thread :- Cleaning and checking the gas fire
Next was an interweb trip to Bouncing Rabbit. Replacing the pop-top shockcord Thanks to Mr Calder's advice in this thread, we replaced the original 2.5mm shock cord with 4mm. We also decided to go for the royal blue colour which in our opinion looks good. 10 metres is more than enough for a Troll (we over ordered ). We found that by using a large cable tie as a needle, threading the shock cord through the corner tunnels was easy. Insect netting washed and re-fitted.
The upholstery was washed and re-fitted before Xmas.
Battery fully charged, Gas working OK. EHU working OK. road lights working OK. ( we don't use on board water ).
Fridge Ignition:- Presumably another battery? Has anyone ever changed one? Also, do newer vans have a cooker ignition? I don't think ours has one.
A Point to Ponder
Is there a very good reason why the Eriba fridge is NOT wired into a 13 amp plug and socket? The reason I ask is because when we read of all the electrical problems that can occur with BIP's etc, as an emergency measure, the EHU could be run to bypass the van electrics, the fridge being the only major problem.

Mind you, it serves you right for not asking, I suppose

My service engineer did mine without taking the front off, its right at the bottom and with a bit of fiddling can be changed with the front in place.

Following Randas example I have been going over things in my Triton to get it ready for the new season.
Over the winter it had its yearly service (November) and repairs to the door shelves.
Over the last few weeks its had a wash down on the outside, new tyres (just re-fitted the spare underneath) and connected the new car to the van to rest the new towbar electrics, and sanded all the paint off the working part of the towball so there will be no problem with the stabiliser pads.
