I need to move my 12v battery and will have holes in the floor after I have done so. Does anyone know what I can cover the holes with please ?

TIA

Andy

Be careful blocking ventilation holes, if your battery is not sealed IE lead acid with top up screws in the top where ever you move it to will need ventilation too. + you will need to alter or extend the wiring and consider the effect on the nose-weight of moving it to a different position.

It's a sealed battery. The hole in the floor is where the cable comes through and it's taking up a whole cupboard below the sink.. I want to move it into the bottom of the wardrobe where there is more room , but will need to blank off the old cable hole. It will still be at the front, so no changes there in terms of nose-weight. When it does move it will be put into a battery box to avoid contact with anything else. I have already moved and rewired the mains socket that was installed at the front of the sink to a more discreet place on top of the wardrobe.

Bear in mind that even the sealed batteries (not Gel etc..) have a small hole for venting gasses which you would normally connect a small vent tube to.

Thanks, I was going to do something similar, but didn't know if there was an " approved method "

Just noticed you have a 1990 puck I put my battery under the seat next to the wardrobe and added a fuse box in my 1989 puck as the smallest thetford loo fitted in the wardrobe.

See my blog (about 1\2 way down) for my ramblings about owning a 1989 puck

Nice. Did you extend the bottom of the wardrobe to ensure the loo fitted ?

I will check tomorrow, but the doors on my wardrobe are "flush" ? I have to re measure tomorrow, the smallest Thetford , qube 335, is 13 1/4 x 15 inches, which may be tight !
The battery is in the bottom of the cupboard under the sink and taking up too much space. The locker sounds like a plan :)

All done. Battery in side locker as suggested, qube 335 in bottom of wardrobe . Day off tomorrow ( another one ! ) unless something else passes swiftly through my memory :)
