We are finally picking up our brand new Eriba Triton GT 420 tomorrow. Ridiculously expensive after all the extras but we hope it will bring us many happy years of traveling in Europe. Bit apprehensive tonight as we have never towed anything before or spent a single night in a caravan. We have done plenty of camping though so fingers crossed!. Off to Biarritz south of France in a couple of weeks for our maiden voyage. Wish us luck and good fortune ?

Good luck both but we're sure you won't need it.
Once you've picked the van up just get onto a dual carriageway as soon as you can and get a feel for the length, width, towing mirrors and general feel for the van. The first thing to remember is that the van will cut the corner that you take with the car so allow yourself a couple of feet more space when you are turning, even on a roundabout. After about 10 minutes you'll start to enjoy yourselves.

There is one more thing I forgot to mention Bob. Many car drivers not only drive to the brake lights of the car in front but also to the brake lights of cars a few places ahead. When they are following your van they can't see beyond you so allow yourself space and slow down gently, pumping your brakes (lights) a few times if necessary as you slow down ( and perhaps even clicking your hazard lights on if the flow of traffic is going at speed) to give the bloke who is often following too close behind you, plenty of warning of your intention to slow down/stop.

from Robin & Pat. We are sure you will have a most enjoyable time in France. And towing an Eriba is not frightening. And after you've had a few travels, your fill of Xmas turkey has come and gone, and you've dusted the Eriba off for Spring next year why not come to the EribaFolk 2017 Spring Meet in April and tell us about your travels and meet up with some EribaFolk.
