All though being a member for some time and and attending last summer meet , I could not log into the forum despite using same names etc. After nearly two days I have not received an email with a temporary password . In desperation attempted to re register as a new member but then was rejected as my name was already reconized, so after many attempts I finally logged in and now it's seems I am a new member ?. My question is in the FAQs and help page its says - Any problems then contact the forum administrator. But how do you do that when you cannot log in and not receiving a new temp password?? Paul

A lot depends on how often you log into the forum, see this topic for admin explanation

Well that is strange as I still have you registered under 'Paul' as an active member.

I've just done a routine admin scan for multiple users of single email addresses and found that you are currently actively registered four times as follows:

Paul (13.12.15) (last log in 22.08.16) - this suggests that this user name was working normally three days ago and that you logged in successfully.
Jo and Paul (23.08.16) (never logged in)
Westytroll (23.08.16) (never logged in)
Pauloswald (24.08.16) (last log in 24.08.16 i.e. this post)

As multiple registrations are not uncommon, the confusion may be due to the delays that can occur between registering for membership and confirmation of activation being received from the forum. This is because registration is done manually by either one of the two Forum Administrators (Randa france and Aaron Calder) as and when we are logged into the forum. It is not an automatic process and I'm pretty sure that this is made clear in the new member registration instructions.

For this reason, registration may on occasion appear to be instantaneous while on others it can take hours to complete.

Also, we have no access to your personal passwords so neither of us can help you if you forget them. So far as I am aware, password reminder/change requests are dealt with by the forum hosts Xobor in Germany.

The upshot of all this is that a) you are still registered as 'Paul' and there is no obvious reason why this identity should not work provided you are using the correct password. b) You are now registered four times so I will need to delete the three identities that are not needed.

Please try to log in again as 'Paul' as this did work on 22 August. If it doesn't work, please let me know which user name you wish to use in future so I can delete the other three.
