Herzim trim

I have seen the thread on here for replacing the trim. Could Mr Calder say if the first strip he had from Leisure direct was the same as the on from AL. Was it only the colour was wrong. I need to replace mine as it has slackened and is popping out of the channel and seems a little brittle.

Hello Taffy

I know you directed the question at Mr Cauldron, but in his absence I think I can help. Herzim strip (the trim you can get from Leisureshop and various other places) is not the same as that put on at the factory, though it does fit.

If I remember correctly the 'proper' stuff (from AL and almost certainly Jandi as well) is about the same price.

The main problem was that the strip I originally obtained was the wrong colour so I sent it back immediately without trying to fit it and was not in a position to compare the two products.

I was only able to obtain the bright red from from AL and although it was quite a bit more expensive, it was the 'genuine article' and fitted perfectly.

The original strip has two shallow grooves in its surface (which the Herzim doesn't), and it's not as thick.

Oops. I didn't remember correctly at all. Sorry about that.

I got mine from Jandi along with 5 new grab handles which was much cheaper than AL! 😎

Hi, thanks for the info. I had a sample sent to me and when I pulled a bit of the original out I thought it looked like a slight groove but couldn't work out if it went like that over time or when fitting into the channel originally. Plus the Herzim sample feels a little move pliable. Best I go to Jandi then.
