During the annual service we were told that our gas truma heater thermostat is broken and that it will cost a few hundred to fix.
The gas thermostat (the copper-coloured long bulb at the base if the heater) is an integral part of the gas valve/control unit.
The whole assembly costs about £90, add to this a couple of hours labour between £60 and £80, and a new flue seal at £5, and the complete job should come to around £170.
Gas thermostats rarely fail though, but these heaters do suffer from rusty burners which produce a low, yellow- coloured flame.
What are the fault symptoms on your heater?
