dating a vintage Pan

Hi , I have just purchased a vintage Pan and have been told that it is almost definitely a 1977. It has Baujahr (year of manufacture) 1978 stamped on the bottom right hand corner of the black and silver chassis plate.

To add to the above, your serial number is 244025

Below is an edited list of Pan Familia serial numbers for vans dated between 1977 and 1979, supplied by our friends on the French Forum.

243241 (1977)
243691 (1978)
244237 (1978)
244509 (1979)

Your number indicates that it's a 1978 model.
