In both cases you'll have to be quick.

Normally there is a difference of about £1500 between a retailer's price and a private seller. Of course, as long as that retailer has a good reputation then you should be buying a van that has had a full service and check over.

With respect to the Irish marketplace, a number of our members from the Emerald Isle have found it almost impossible to purchase an Eriba without visiting mainland GB or even mainland Europe. Perhaps that's because your local caravan dealers are asking too much.

The question is where are your dealers getting them from? I don't think there's an Eriba dealership in Ireland is there? Perhaps, like one or two of the mainland UK retailers, they are bringing second hand vans in from Europe but the costs into Ireland are more that to other parts of the UK.

Last year one chap drove north through Ireland and crossed from Belfast to Stranraer and then from Newcastle to the Netherlands to purchase his Eriba.
