Hello All
My wife & I (mainly I) bought our 2006 Eriba Troll 540GT last year, after what we now know to be a lucky set of circumstances.
I had researched enough to know (near enough) exactly the van 'we' wanted, but also knew that fully specified Eriba's are less common
and therefore command a premium on the second hand market. This venture for my wife, is currently a 'work in progress' with the jury
very much out, until a verdict is reached in her mind, so I'm treading (planning) carefully.

Our Eriba (named EVA), is more or less 100%, almost as new in most areas. She was tucked away close to us, essentially unused.
Big plans to get her into Europe for some long distance adventures. I have a few 'overland' mods / preparations planned so will be
looking to see who's done what, and how, on the forum...so with thanks in advance...Hi from SKIP.

I like the rig SKIP. My wife won't let me tow our Pan Duo T with my old Defender - probably because it's a well used ( off road)1994 300 TDI 12 seater and is at the "needing some TLC" stage.I suppose it would be " a sledgehammer to crack a nut" though as our little VW Polo pulls the Pan easily.

Hello Meoldcoker I'm still regretting selling our previous Defender (1994 300dti CSW) but the new one does the job well
as you might expect, at almost exactly the same width and height of the Eriba Troll you 'almost' forget its there...fantastic road
manners for a Caravan...even towing it home, with the nose far too high (before resetting the tow frame arrangements) and the
nose weight all wrong it behaved really well, momentum is always your friend when towing, but so far it's been great up and down
the 'interesting bits' in north wales.

Hello Eribanut I'm really pleased with our 540, the 'only' feature I wish we had, is the external locker access to the rear under seat area.
The way we have used ours (so far) is to set up and leave the bed in place, and so I find that I just don't go near the storage underneath,
except to empty the on board water tank (on the other side) before leaving site. So easy access to this unused (valuable) storage area needs
a fix. I'm going to look into this and see if this feature could be retro fitted to an Eriba that started life without external access locker.

Hi Skip. There are door frames available to make locker access from companies like CAK Tanks. The piece of caravan that is cut out becomes the door part of the frame so there is no problem matching paint etc.

Hello Frantone

Yes that's the sort of thing, I'm going to see if I can source a OEM Service Locker Door 'Unit' from Hymer matching the standard Eriba Equipment.
There are also Marine Locker Options (which are generally of better quality) which may be an option here. There are some 'must get right issues',
from understanding the internal structural frame position, ensuring there are no hidden wiring / service features, to reducing the external trim 'strip'
length, if I do install a standard service locker, and probably more by the time this is really thought through...so a research project first!

Thanks for the point in one direction...

is an option too matching Service Door (styling) to Thetford Cassette Toilet on NS of van
