New Eriba prices up by 20%

It is always very difficult to ascertain how much new Eriba are as they normally only quote the base price, which usually means you have to start adding £1000 for delivery and another few thousand for the extras such as the GT package, silver smooth paint etc.

Lowdhams show the top dollar price and they have markedly gone up in 12 months by about 20%...

Familia 320 GT £22,402
Troll 530 £24,953

Simply because of brexit. Any business, mine included, that buys from Europe in Euros has faced rises or around 18%. Couple this with other overhead costs and it's simple to see why.

This is exactly the reason I bought a brand new troll at the end of October to park under cover for 6 months. I knew full well that new stock would be 20% more expensive as indeed it must be as no business is set up to lose money.

Hopefully it will settle down, Eriba prices have fluctuated in the past which has seen dealerships stop stocking them until it becomes viable again, I suppose on the up side is that the value of your Eriba will go up and it will probably be more cost effective buying from abroad.

If you buy abroad your £ is worth less. I ordered a new van from Lowdhams in June, the day after Brexit. At the time I would have needed to see a euro to £ exchange rate of about 1.3 for it to be worthwhile buying new abroad. [I found the dealer very flexible with the price]. This is not going to happen for a long time, if at all.
Prices are difficult to work out as the attractve listings you see on the likes of marktplaats [private and dealer sales] are not clear. You frequently need to add a substantial amount on to cover what is not included on a UK van.

You need a big bit of paper, a calculator and a lot of time to work out if it is beneficial.
