Becks Motor Homes in Rollesby (Nr. Martham in Norfolk) are now selling new Eribas. They don't do servicing, however. so I wonder how they will get on if a buyer has a warranty issue in the first year like some of us had with cupboard hinges, washroom doors. They are, they assure me, signed up with Hymer and can carry out the water ingress test and provide the necessary paper work for warranty purposes. They are about a 45 minute drive away for us which is a lot closer than Poole! So we've booked Waveney Motor Homes and caravan services for a mobile service on our drive in March and the water ingress test at Becks in the same week after which we can push on up to maybe North Norfolk for a long weekend away.

Hi Magpie,

Be careful, I asked Hymer in Germany about using a non authorised dealer for the servicing and got the reply below, it maybe worth asking them if you can just have the damp inspection to qualify for any damp ingress. The email below suggests that they require all the servicing to be done by a Hymer dealer for them to honour any warranty claims.

Email:
persoenliche_nachricht: Hi Hymer, please can you advise, I live in the UK and I have a 2015 Eriba Familia, do I have to use an official Hymer dealer for all the servicing to keep the mechanical/damp warranty valid or can I use any Caravan engineer/company? Thanks

Dear Mr.......,

We refer to your request dated 18.11.2016.

You definitely have to go to an authorized Hymer/Eriba dealer for your warranty inspections.

We hope we were able to help you.

Hi Poptop320, Thank you for the advice. I think we are OK. The van was bought in early in 2015 so we are out of the two year general warranty now. Becks are quite a large concern and have been authorised Hymer dealers for a good number of years but up to now have just sold motor homes. The Eribas are a new, though understandable venture. I questioned them pretty carefully about whether they were authorised to do the water ingress test and provide the necessary paperwork and they assured me they could. Apparently they don't want to take on the general servicing. If any leakage is found then I suppose we would then have to take the van to Poole to have it repaired under warranty. Waveney motorhomes and caravans have helped us with odd repairs in the past and they are members of the approved workshop scheme. I'd be interested to know how other owners who live a long way from an authorised dealer cope.

Hello. Although we live in Bournemouth, we are taking the Eriba to Barneveld in The Netherlands for the work, due to a few problems with AL. For your information, they are situated in Bournemouth, having moved from Poole in 2015.

Also from Bournemouth, took mine to Jandi for a window replacement, because AL said they couldn't help!
