replacement door!

Hi,

We have a 1976 Triton but the door requires replacement. Sadly it appears that an overly energetic foot has made an attempt to exit the caravan before the door was open . Not by us I must add

The interior lining (smooth so no door shelves) is cracked and one of the vents on the outer door is also cracked.

I know that it's going to be a challenge but that's what we need.

Our van is dimpled and not smooth skin. The door has a flat edge across the bottom edge but curved at the top corner edges.

Hopefully some one can help.

cheers
jez

First place to call is Jandi. They're always the first place to call.

Get a comfy chair, a cup of tea and a plateful of ginger nuts.

Cheers, Pepe le Pew. Sadly Jandi cannot help.

hopefully this will show you the door. The infill trim has been shattered. My options are either to purchase 1mm plywood or 1mm perspex/plastic sheet and create my own infill. Unless someone has one available.

Has anyone any other thoughts on resolving this difficulty.

cheers

Try contacting Hymer customer services directly and see if they can offer an opinion.

You can just ply line the door which is really easy to do. Ours is ply lined and the same door as yours. We also covered it in Formica and added shelves.

You coul try a coloured polypropylene board called Foamex and template it to cut it to the interior liner. If the door is good it is only the interior skin you need to get replaced.

I picked up a sample piece of 0.6mm laminate on friday. It will do what I need so the best solution, as mentioned above, will be to make my own door skin.

thanks for the replies
