Sticking zips on pop up

Today we have uncovered Monty The Troll for the first time since last year, haven't been out in him yet since purchase last Oct!
Found the triangular panels that are zipped seem to be stuck closed. Any tips on freeing the zip before I try axle grease?

Cheers
Alan.

PTFE spray is worth a try. This is a dry lubricant white powder in a spray can. Yopu usually get a fine bit of clear tube with it so you can direct the spray directly into the zip closer.l I carry a can of this in the van and find it works a treat on the window stays. You may well find a can in Aldi or Lidl, failing that try on line.

An old trick is to rub the zips with a lead pencil along their length

Whilst graphite is an excellent dry lubricant it is going to be messy, and you need to get it into the body of the zip that is stuck closed.

Best stick with the PTFE spray then, sounds safer.

On our Puck L the side vent is triangular and the zips are stuck at the top. They are virtually impossible to free and we went through last season with them stuck.Still not sure how we will free them as I think something is slightly out of place.

Rubbing a candle on the zip teeth works too.

There's no danger of overspray, and the beneficial effect lasts much longer than dry PTFE, though I reckon Colin's right in that a judicious squirt of PTFE and a good bit of wiggling is probably the best thing for unjamming the slider in the first place.

PTFE is handy stuff to have anyway. Halfords sell it.
