Water heaters

Last year we bought a new Triton 420 and used it mainly off grid, with no electric hook up facility. We only get hot water if plugged into mains and are wondering if we should have specified aTruma gas/electric boiler rather than just electric. Are there any members who can share their experiences of dual boilers? Would they be costly to retro fit, I expect so! My wife does use the shower as she is only 5' 1''. Best wishes to all

We have a Familia 320 which had the Truma Ultrastore already fitted including the electric element. It is a brilliant piece of kit and wouldn't want to be without it, as we camp off grid also. I think ours is the 10L model and it is situated behind the gas fire under the wardrobe. No idea of installation cost, but I believe they need either an internal water tank or external aquaroll to work which if you currently have neither will increase the cost.

Jason thanks very much for the reply. We have an external aqua roll so are a little way there. I wonder if there would be a market for our nearly new electric heater which works very well if you have mains electricity near by. Best Wishes Robert
