Spring Meet, A Rat, Power Link Up.

You wouldn't believe it ?

A Rat has been chewing away at my Orange Power cable outside whilst I've been getting my Eriba charged up for our trip away.
It's tackled the cable whilst it's been live and has broken into the blue cable copper inner. I hope it got a shock....

Anyway I've now had to chop off 4 metres of my 25mt, cable.

Does anyone know if this will be long enough to link up at the site?

Cheers Ian

Provided you're within 21 metres of the hook-up post you'll be fine.

Don't all look at me - someone had to say it...

In all seriousness you could try ringing Lychett Manor and asking how far the hook up posts are from the pitch. I would be surprised if on a UK site they are that far, on the continent is another matter. We have had to hook up 3 pitches away from the van at which point we were grateful for a really long cable. You should be fine, if not we should have spare cable with us.

Thanks for that response which answered my concerns/lack of knowledge based on my very little experience of touring in the UK for the last 20 years compared with my extensive experience of touring Europe . We just don't know what to expect on the modern site in the UK and as it's the first time out with the Eriba we did n't want to be the focus of amusement when we arrived on site.

It seems for some we didn't have to wait to arrive on site

I cut ten meters off mine and added a socket and plug to give me a 15m and a 10m as I always found the 25m too long and a pain to roll out and put away every trip.
