Fridge not working

Hello Campers,
The fridge on my 1994 Puck has just stopped working!
Could anyone advise me where my first port of call would be please? Is there a fuse?
I'm a bit of a fluffy camper so anything too technical will need to be outsourced but I'd like to at least have a go.
Thank you,
Jo

On the gas I presume? A regular problem. Can some times be a spider caught in the pipes. Not doubt you'll get some answers in here, It doesn't operate on a slope either so should be level. I've had a mobile man in to strip and clean ours.

When ours went wrong a few years ago it was elementary.

ie. It worked on gas but although the green light was on it didn't work on lecci. We had to have a new element fitted. About 60 quid supplied and fitted by our friendly mobile service engineer.

A bug**r of a job for a DIY'er. I wouldn't like to try it. He had to remove about 20 trim screws before he could pull the fridge out enough to get at it. Took about 45 minutes.

I had to have a new electric element fitted after the last Stratford meet, like you I got a service engineer in to do the work.

Thank you kind campers.
It's on the electric hook up. I was just wondering if I had missed a trick but it had been working so probably not. I think I may need to get in an engineer as you've mentioned!
Does anyone know a reputable firm please?
Thank you
Jo

You might find someone in this section

Caravan servicing and repairs, including mobile technicians.

Or someone in your area from the mobile Caravan Engineers

We have one more EHU trip booked but have two Hash events, with no EHU so will rely on the fridge with gas. Before we go on them I decided to check if it would fire as we hadn't used gas for ages. A week ago, we had a devil of a job getting even a spark with no flame. We persevered and finally after a few sparks, it lit.

Since then, every day I try it and we get a flame every time - success. We are away this next weekend and will use it with confidence - I hope.

Probably the usual reason, cobwebs, stray bits of debris etc.

Im not too sure if my fridge works with the engine on (when the engine ran that is) can you have the gas on whilst in motion or is it a bit of a no no? I'm starting to think I've just put out a stupid question.

Air, food, love and water (with some hops and barley etc) is all we need.

Definitely a no to gas on whilst travelling.
The 12v fridge supply from the engine will probably not work on tick-over, more revs are needed! However, even when working, the system will only maintain the temperature not do any real cooling. It's best to get the fridge nice and cold on mains or gas before setting off.

And also load the fridge with cold stuff from the domestic refrigerator/freezer shortly before setting off.

When our fridge packed up while in Spain a few years ago, we used a full Camping Gaz 907 every 11 days. Only for the fridge as we cook with lecci.
