Dog Door
Has anyone been able to find a reasonable dog door or stair gate to fit an Eriba habitation doorway, taking account of the furnishings on both door and entrance? It seems really unfair to keep Weasel the whippet tied up inside the caravan, but the warm summer days cry out for an open door. What do dog owners do to get a bit more fresh air than comes through the canvas triangles?

We can't leave Boris (golden retriever) inside the van with the door open as he's likely to catch his leg behind the step if he jumps out. He almost went through the mosquito screen once - it wouldn't have survived intact had he succeeded!! Tying him up in close proximity to the eriba means he crawls underneath it and (almost white dog) comes out with his back covered in grease. End result is that he's usually attached to one of us or, if we are lucky, a well placed tree on the pitch. I have thought of a gate on the door before but it seems a bit of a faff, as I often 'lean in' to get stuff out the kitchen cupboard or fridge and there would be a lolloping great retriever in my way as well as the gate!
Dogs....gotta love em!

I imagine Weasel the whippit is a good jumper but what about one of these? They are quite popular.

Rags and Wolf got quite used to being tethered near the 'van using a 'spiral tie out stake' and 'tie out cables' - available, I note, from Pets at Home or lots of other pet supply places or caravan accessory stores. Wolf is no longer with us and new dog Gryph (7 months) has yet to learn to accept being restrained. I'm sure he will. Or, when relaxing outside, we hang on to one or both as Blue Yonder does with Boris.
