Tow Ball for Alko 1300 Stabiliser

Hi, I would appreciate thoughts and advice on whether or not I need to buy a new bolt on tow ball. We did not have a stabiliser on our previous Familia and the caravan always towed well on several long trips. We now have a Triton 430 which has the AKS 1300 stabiliser. Eriba Shop told us that our existing
tow ball (Witter?) would be fine with the stabiliser and we have done several hundred miles since then and all has been ok. However, the Alko website says that only their own tow ball should be used with their stabiliser. There is some noticeable noise from the stabiliser when driving slowly but I think that the friction pads probably need a clean. The tow ball is always kept clean and shiny. Our big question is whether it is safe to continue towing with the existing tow ball on the car??
