I have a heat diffuser with my skillet, I also use it to heat up chapatis and Nan breads, Garlic bread baguettes can also be cooked if you wrap them in tin foil..

Tremendously good things are these heat diffusers. We've been using a similar one for nearly 40 years on our camping trips and now in out Eriba. The flame on a camping stove or caravan cooker seems to burn much hotter and is more localised that a domestic stove and these diffusers under a pan make simmering much more controllable. No more nasty burnt bit at the bottom of the pan!

Also have to agree with the OP that they are great for warming up nans and chapattis

Cheers,

Angie and Steve.

It looks like you have to be careful where you buy a heat diffuser from, Amazon they are £4, at Argos they are £33....

Argos are hopeless. They're like something out of the seventies - catalogues fastened to the countertops, little tiny pencils that aren't worth pinching, grumpy staff who'd rather be somewhere else...

The whole thing is an anachronism trying to keep a decades-old business model afloat.

And they aren't even remotely competitive for most stuff.

Most other prices for that diffuser are about fourteen quid; less than half what Argos charge.

It is a bit bigger than the Amazon one, in fairness, and it does say Ozpig on the handle, but even so...
