Hi, as life long tent campers we decided after years of 'shall we-shan't we' to make the move to an eriba puck! We are now the proud owners of our beautiful, much loved tiny 1994 puck - who we've named (after many sleepless nights of name searching) - Nelipot ('to walk bare foot'). Our first adventure with her will be to the south of France in the summer! Our current cause of much head scratching is an awning. Having decided against the 'divorce in a bag' option we're now scouring the internet for viable options. Does anyone use a Quechua pop up shelter? Does anyone have the vision canopy? (Can only find 2 Reviews of this one, but it looks good?). Huge thanks for any canopy/awning suggestions. Everyone we've had 'eriba' contact with so far have been the nicest people, so very excited about our next chapter of adventures and exploring....xxx

Hi and we have a Wigo Vision sunshade it can be viewed at the bottom on page 6, in the awning section, of the picture gallery. Versatile, use roof only, add sides, add front as you like. We bought it from the Richard at the Caravancanopyshop who is a member of this forum and a very nice helpful guy.

Hi Nel
Welcome to the site from another ex-lifelong tenter who converted to an Eriba last year. Kath & i both agree that it was a great move and we love it.

As to the awning the jury is a bit out with us. The reason we stopped tenting was my iffy hips meant I was in agony after pegging out our Outwell Bear Lake. When we got our van we got an AL Porch Awning, which is quite small. In many ways it is OK but I found the pegging out on hardstandings to be very painful. So much so we have only used it once.

We then bought the inflatible Kampa Porch awning but haven't tried it yet after the many problems other Forum members seem to be having putting it up - we will try it soon but I am feeling it might be no easier than putting up our beloved tent.

We are in a position currently where we are not using an awning at all and feel we perhaps rushed into things without thinking carefully enough!!!!!!!!!!! Would encourage you to do a lot of exploration and give careful thought before splashing the cash.
Good luck and enjoy your new adventure
MikeT

Hello. having had a traditional framed awning damaged by high winds - I would think about an inflatable one. Our Airbeam behaves well in a blow and I understand they simply deform and pop back again in severe weather. Cheers - Spike ( another newbie)
