Question, Can You Help

I have to replace the auto stays on my Triton 430gt back and front windows, While I am pretty sure that the back ones are 300mm, I have no idea of the front ones, neither have I much idea of how to measure them. Does anyone know what size the are? Or how to measure them.

There the ones Nev, Front widow ones as well. I think that they are polyplastic auto stays that clip onto a fixing screwed onto the window and I have seen them advertised in 200 mm and 300 mm lengths, but mine don,t seem to fit those sizes. Rear ones could be 300 mm but the front ones seem longer then 200 mm but shorter than 300 mm. but then how do you actually measure them?

The mounting points on body to window, centre to centre appear to be 300mm on mine, Arm lengths are also about 300mm.

I replaced the side window ones on my 310 with the non indexing type you have on your kitchen and bathroom. I had to cut these to length and adapt. I was told I could not do this and it was a job and a half. Getting the correct length is very important as you would definetly NOT be able to adapt the indexing type.

If you have not already worked out how to remove them from the window, it's easy when you know how. A mount is bonded to the window that you do not remove. If you turn the locking lever that is mounted onto this a small hole will be apparent. Push the pointed end of a meat skewer into the hole and you will be able to slide the assembly off the window mount.

Thanks Colin for the information on how to get the arms off. My reason for changing them is that one of the stays won't stay on and keeps falling off.

Jandi seams to be the obvious choice to get the correct ones.

Your right of course, this has to be the obvious solution, thanks for helping. Tom

HI,

I ordered some new ones for a front window on my troll, not from Jandi, they were the right length but there were no screw holes in the end fitting, stick with Jandi and you'll get the right length and fitting. In the end I sprayed the old ones with PTFE lube and now they are fine again!!!

The ptfe spray is a good call. I carry a can of this for spraying on the window stays and into the awning track.
A small can of silicon spray is also worth carrying to wipe onto the window seals and toilet rubber.

Hi Tom. We had a dodgy front stay as well but after a bit of lube. and some gentle use it's working again.

That's two embarrassing posts in one day.

I was thinking that but I didn't want to say anything.
To be fair to Bigbird we all know that Eriba "washrooms" are a little cramped.
As for Roger lubeing and gently exercising his stay, the mind boggles.

Well, well Mrs Grafo, what are you like? For all those prim and proper remarks we remember you making when we met in Spain regarding the nude male bathers, you surprise me (or not ).
